Dubai - Week Three

Dubai, what can I say, it is now closing on three weeks and I think I am finding my groove. Things are falling into place, my room is coming together (I still can't find a area rug,) and the commute to work is not all that bad. I will have to say the first week and a half of work was really hard; I felt really overwhelmed and the, "Oh shit, am I really here?" was kind of looming over my head. All those emotions/feelings have past and I am really starting to enjoy work, enjoy Dubai, minus the heat and humidity.

We got a new person at work, his name is Ali and he works under me... which is nice to have a little help. He is fresh out of college and pretty intelligent, best part about it, is that he has been in Dubai for awhile and hold me a bunch of stuff I needed to know. :) You could say I am using him but, I don't like to talk like that :)

I am settling in to my apartment: my roommates are never home and this makes for a quiet place to relax with my girlfriend. After working a long day in the PR industry, it is nice to have a place where I can go and not hear noise, people talking about clients, clients screaming in your ear about a stupid invitations or programs that need to be printed, or women talking about the lastest fashion trends [I work in an office of all women minus Ali, of course.] It is a great place where we can just sit, relax, and enjoy each other.

On a final note, I noticed that everything here is open much later than the States. I can go to the Market or  Dry Cleaner at 22:00 worry about it being closed... it's amazing! I really like it actually because I find myself working much longer than in the States and I still have a life to live.

For now, that is all. I plan to go around town this weekend and take a bunch of pictures so that I can show you all the real Dubai, if there is such a thing, nonetheless  take some  cool photos of all the crazy stuff I see around Dubai.
